Stéphanie:I'm not sure I should accept this gift. Why do I deserve a present anyway?
Stephane: Because...for the occasion that you are pretty.
Stephane: [Shows 3-D glasses] You can see real life in 3-D.  Stéphanie: Isn't life already in 3-D?  Stephane: No but, yeah but, come on.

A movie favourite - about love, language and dreams - this movie is a dream, exactly like one. Whimsical, funny and a little left of centre. You wake up slightly non-plussed and hazy-eyed, smiling but you can't put your finger on exactly why. Forests in boats, a tv show in dream-time, a life size toy horse, a marriage proposal and a lot of make-believe. The movie plays out like dreams do, and Stephane is lost, socially inept and completely adorable. Like 'Once', 'Across the Universe' or Gondry's other film 'Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' its the good kind of different.

Gael Garcia Bernal plays Stephane - from the Motor Cycle Diaries and many other things.. a Mexican actor and director who - by default of speaking spanish - of course I love already, but besides the spanish - sus ojos, sus peliculas y muchas otras cosas - me encanta!
